Thistlemane was walking towards camp with a fish in his jaws. It was late evening, and after having spent the better half of his afternoon hunting, the warrior was already feeling drowsy. The multiple fish he had managed to catch ensured he'd have to make several more trips, and while he'd never complain about spending time alone at night, even Thistlemane had to admit there was a slight unwillingness due to his tire. Perhaps if Pearlstar hadn't adopted a new hussy he wouldn't have to be hunting as much, but hey.
The ginger and white tom walked with a straight back and pricked ears, remaining much more alert than he would have been in any morning situation. Even tired as he was, the later hour drew forward his easy-going personality, and so he walked with a cheery step. A noise to his left caused a slight hesitation, before he stopped completely and placed the fish down, wariness hinting in his gaze, though his posture remained relaxed. "Yes?"

I smiled as I stepped away from the empty nursery. This clan was rather small and I wasn't exactly settled in with all the kitties here, but I wasn't unhappy with my choices. Staying out and around the clans boarders equaled some scuffles for my self. I truly didn't like being so close to FoxClan, an honestly wretched place. I glanced about before heading to the territory. Sure, I had been positioned as a kitten maker or whatever they called them, but that didn't mean I was a totally useless bundle of bones.
I headed towards the gurgling of water, well, the loudest gurgling of it anyways. Scents of water voles and damp rocks made me nose twitch and my mouth slightly drool, how ladylike of me. I gave a small roll of the shoulders and got ready go fishing, but a familiar smell knocked my nose. An evil grin crossed my face. Oh ho ho ho. Looky what I've found. I headed towards it, not missing a step. The rather snappish kitty from before has apparently taken it upon himself to go out hunting all alone. "Hello, buddy. Were you hunting to make sure I got some food too?" I wasn't exactly trying to be rude or trying to instigate something. I just simply wanted to have a lively chat.

Of all the things he could have chosen to encounter, a rogue had not been at the top of his left. With an irritated sigh at his ill fortune, Thistlemane made to make off again without replying before thinking better of it. He had something to gain here after all. Slowly he turned his head in the slightest to the rogue.
"If you're hungry, catch some yourself. That's what rogues do, isn't it?" He replied, matching her tone, but narrowing his amber gaze. He didn't particularly enjoy being talked to, in truth he was more of a talker, and only then when it was a topic he enjoyed. This was not a topic he enjoyed.

All I could possibly think was how much credit I needed to give this cat for keeping his cool with me. I gave click of my tongue and straightened up. Closing off my talkativeness for later, I shook my head. I gave a small chiding "tsk". "Yes. That is what rogues do, but you seem to have forgotten that I am not a rogue," I meowed, the hoarseness in my voice starting to settle in. I gave a small gulp, trying to soothe the burning.
I flicked my tail impassively and cocked my head at him. He didn't seem like a bad cat. He just had a skip in his step if I had not been mistaken. The mound of fish on the ground, caught by him, for his clanmates. I just shook my head. "Maybe I will catch some fish, but if I drown you have to become a queen."

His gaze turned critical, analyzing the she-cat with intrigue, though albeit it disdainfully. Every move she made seemed tolerant, as if she were looking down on him in some way, or purposefully phrasing her words to sound teasing. It ground on Thistlemane's nerves. "Oh? Then what are you?" He demanded simply in a monotone voice, devoid of challenge or curiosity at this point.
With a wry snort the ginger tom shook his head. Quickly glancing between the river and the rogue, he was caught at a loss. "I'm not agreeing to something stupid like that, I owe you nothing, least of all my word."

I snickered and shook my head at him like he was a disabled kitten. "Wow, I pegged you to be a smart pants. Guess I have to spell it out for you, huh?" I cocked my head with a grin, dark eyes holding a glint in them. "I am part of your clan now, you see? I don't care what you view of me, pal. Rather, Pearlstar's word is law and I won't fail to see that. I do believe doing anything too out of line to a clanmate is frowned upon, eh?" I gave a lopsided smile and and flicked my tail.
I gave a small "tch" sound and raised a fictional brow at the tomcat. "Really now? You promoted the idea for such a poor and helpless little queen to go out to the river all by herself! How uncouth of you to not take responsibility!" I turned with a flash of a curled lip and sauntered towards the rushing river. I parted the reeds and looked around before falling out of view.

He'd expected her answer, it was the obvious thing for her to say. That didn't make it smart. Patiently, as if explaining to a young kit, Thistlemane spoke. "Calling yourself a fish wont grow you gills. Calling yourself my clanmate wont make you a part of my clan; not in my eyes." Her faux insolence was grating, but not impossible to counter with his own indifference, so he supposed it could have been worse. Still he had to wonder, of all the rogues for Pearlstar to take pity on, why this one? He could have at least looked for something worthwhile if he was looking for adoption.
"I promote the idea of a drowning loner. I see no queen," Thistlemane replied tiredly, growing bored with the repetitive nature of the conversation. He certainly wasn't going to be accepting her any time soon, and it wouldn't change with her insults. She belittled real queens with her presence alone. Settling down to watch as the she-cat sauntered away, Thistlemane waited. Unfortunately he couldn't claim to be conversing with an idiot, there was no way Holly would put herself in danger after talking so high-and-mighty. On the other hand, if she expected him to make a move to 'save' her, then perhaps she was an idiot after all.

Before I moved away I stuck my tongue out at him. "Loser!" I frowned down at the river, not really taking a liking to the fact that I'd probably have to swim at night to cross the bank. A devious grin appeared on my lips. I knew a way to possibly grab some attention, although I could possibly get myself killed in the doing of it. I started walking down the side of the rushing water. I gave a small melodic hum, getting ready. "Hmm, I think I'll go tell some other clans the direction to camp. Bye, loser!" I hollered out, I turned my head back for a moment before stepping into a run.
Maybe joining another clan with some information to share would be more beneficial to me than this wet piece of moss who absolutely had to ruin all the fun that ever existed. Ever. Yeah, he was a little bit of a downer. I dug my claws into the soggy earth as I kicked up pebbles and loos earth. It was obvious to the ear that I was off in a dash.
ew this was short sorry ;3;

She was obnoxious, and attention-seeking and petulant. He despised cats like that, and when Holly finally began moving away he refrained from sighing in relief. It was short lived, since the rogue turned around almost immediately. Share their camp location? Thistlemane didn't believe she had the guts, but at least if she did her short stay in his clan would be over, and he'd have been proven right. A rogue through and through. Standing up, Thistlemane stretched himself with pleasure. "Funny how you constantly protested against being a rogue, then went and pulled something like this because a single tom didn't like you. It's pathetically immature." He replied in an uncaring voice.
"Well have fun, I'll be heading back to chat with Pearlstar about your impending exile," Thistlemane added with a jaunty wave of his tail. She was already off, he could hear the clattering of stones, but whether she heard or not wouldn't change his actions, and so he didn't have to change them. Turning, the ginger and white tom yawned before beginning his walk home. He'd have to get his fish later.
